Sommer Brock and Christianne Malone join the Pontiac Community Foundation team

The Pontiac Community Foundation (PCF) announces the hiring of the Vice-President of Development, Sommer Brock and the Senior Program Advisor, Christianne Malone.

Both roles expand PCF’s ability to accomplish its mission of empowering and developing the city of Pontiac through philanthropic initiatives and collaboration.

Brock’s expertise and passion for improving outcomes for underprivileged populations has led her to work with various organizations in Southeast Michigan.

“We are very pleased that Sommer is joining our team at the Pontiac Community Foundation,” said Dustin McClellan, Founder and CEO of the Pontiac Community Foundation. “His expertise will help us continue to grow and deepen our mission to engage philanthropy, leadership and collaboration in the Pontiac.

Brock is originally from Pontiac and previously sat on the board of directors of the Pontiac Community Foundation. She is also currently President of the Greater Detroit Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals where she served in various roles, including chair of the National Philanthropy Day committee and vice-chair of the IDEA committee.

“There is so much to look forward to as I join PCF,” said Brock. “I am delighted to be part of the Pontiac resurgence. I’m also excited to be able to use my fundraising and nonprofit management skills to help Pontiac become the premier place to live, work and play.

An Oakland XXVII Leadership graduate and member of the Oakland County Elite 40 under 40 class of 2018, Sommer is also a member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations serving the Pontiac community, including The Art Experience and Accent Pontiac. A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Sommer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.

Malone will continue PCF’s efforts to build a strong channel for change and collaboration in the city of Pontiac. More specifically, Malone will participate in the planning, implementation and strategic direction of the Pontiac Entrepreneurship Center, a collaborative initiative of the Pontiac Community Foundation.

“Christianne has been part of our work over the past year working with us in an advisory role and as partner, ”said Dustin McClellan, Founder and CEO, Pontiac Community Foundation. “We are excited to expand her role with us as she focuses on developing community programs that empower entrepreneurs and the Pontiac small business community.

Malone has been involved in the development of Metro Detroit’s entrepreneurial ecosystem for over a decade, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the position and the organization. His past experience includes the position of Deputy Director of the Build Institute, a small business and non-profit incubator in Detroit, as well as a multitude of roles at the Detroit Regional Chamber, Ponyride and the Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce. .

“What excites me the most is working with this great team from the Pontiac Community Foundation to connect and develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Pontiac,” said Malone.
